is dedicated to providing exceptional quality. Aspiring athletes will have the unique opportunity to train with high performance coaches who have sent dozens of athletes to Senior National and Olympic teams, ensuring a uniquely comprehensive high-performance training experience. We believe good racing begins with great training discipline: physiological, tecnical, and psychological. If rowing better is what you are looking for, Black Sheep is where you will find it.
The BSR Summer Training Program is about training to compete. We strongly believe that the value is not only in the journey, but that it is the journey that prepares you for racing, and that too many programs focus more on putting athletes in as many races as possible, rather than addressing the core elements which will improve your performance in the long run. Our aim is to make you a better rower overall - something you can take with you into your rowing future.
Dates: Summer Training "officially" begins on May 26, ending the week of Aug. 10, during Canadian Henley. It will be divided into preliminary and primary sessions, as shown below. We understand that some seasons may not have ended by the start date, or that some of you may want a few days off before starting up again, so feel free to join us at any time during the Preliminary period. Please connect with coaches about your projected start date.
Preliminary: May 26 - June 4 (Flexible start for athletes)
Primary: June 19 - August 10
OTW Location: 10 River Road, Philadelphia, PA (Schuylkill River)

Training:
Tues thru Sat
Weekdays 8am to noon, Saturdays 9am - 1pm
Sweep and sculling, 1, 2, and 4-person boats only (skill!)
Weight training and erg support
